Passing the guidon
552nd Operations Group Commander Col. Richard Land III passes the guidon for the 966th Airborne Air Control Squadron to the new squadron commander, Lt. Col. Lonzo Wallace, during a change of command ceremony April 14. Lt. Col. Christian Egan relinquished command during the ceremony and 1st Sgt. Henry McRoberts served as the guidon bearer. The 966th AACS is the largest Formal Training Unit conducting training in ther Air Force's only Programmed Flying Training unit for the E-3B/C AWACS. The 966th trains 625 students annually for the E-3 Initial Qualifications and Upgrade Training Courses, involving over 33 Air Force syllabi for 15 unique crew positions, more than 2,700 flying hours and $1.6 Billion, in assets.
