552 ACW participates in Checkered Flag 2015

Tyndall hosted the Checkered Flag 16-1 exercise that started Dec. 10 and concluded Dec. 18.

Checkered Flag is a large-force exercise that gives a large number of legacy and fifth-generation aircraft the chance to practice combat training together in a simulated employment from a deployed environment.

Those involved in supporting the exercise were Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana; Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, and Tyndall AFB. A diverse group of aircraft are engaged in these combat training missions including; F-22 Raptors, F-35 Lightning IIs, an F-15E Strike Eagle, F-15C Eagles, F-16 Fighting Falcons, QF-16 aerial targets, T-38 Talons, B-52 Stratofortress's and an E-3 "Sentry" Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS).
