Hershel Walker Visit
Herschel Walker, former NFL running back, talks to Tinker Airmen about mental health issues during his visit to the base this week. For as much success as he’s had during his standout career, Mr. Walker suffers from mental illness and now travels the country, talking to service members about his early struggles and encouraging them to seek help for behavioral issues. His message is one of resiliency and goes hand-in-hand with the Air Force’s Comprehensive Airman Fitness program, which includes the four pillars of wellness — mental, physical, social and spiritual.
