Veterans day

First Sergeant Rebecca Edwards, with the Oklahoma Army National Guard, admires the statue which was made in her honor during the Women’s Veterans Monument unveiling at Patriot Park in Del City Tuesday. The monument features five women, representing each military branch, holding hands to show sisterhood. Committee members wanted to not only depict women in the five main military branches, but also Citizen-Soldiers in the National Guard. The monument also includes names and dates of service of the Del City military members who died in foreign wars. (Air Force photo by Kelly White)
