The pavilions behind the Tinker Golf Club turned into quite a spectacle on August 7 as Airmen of the 960th Airborne Air Control Squadron, along with several members of the 552nd Air Control Wing Staff came out in full Viking regalia to celebrate Viking Fest 2009.

In true Viking tradition, the event included food fights, boat races, tug-of-war, a dunk tank, and a rock throw, said 1st Lt. Michelle Zook, 960 AACS.

"Viking Fest is the squadron's expression of our history and roots," said Lieutenant Zook. "We use it as a time to kick back and enjoy the camaraderie of our squadron and have fun together."

Even Col. Pat Hoffman, commander, 552 ACW, and Col. Scott Forest, vice commander, 552 ACW, came out to join the fun.

Lieutenant Zook summed it up, "If you can't throw bread at a buddy and eat turkey legs with the commander, really, what's the point?!"
