Col. Tom Engle, 552nd Air Control Wing vice commander, addresses wing Airmen before the first half-day session of a two-day Ability to Survive and Operate, or ATSO,  training course held in a wing hangar.  The colonel reminded the Airmen how important this training was.  “We need to train on things we don’t do daily,” he said. “We’re deploying all the time, but we don’t do this. If you don’t know how to do this, it’s a vulnerability,” he stressed. The Airmen rotated through five stations, training how to correctly put on MOPP gear and help others put it on, medical Self-Aid Buddy Care, correct decontamination procedures and how to give a detailed SALUTE report to security personnel about any suspicious people or activities.
